From our Neighbors in SD46, here is a great opportunity to learn more about the crisis facing Healthcare in Minnesota:
DFL46 hosts an EduCivics Speaker Series on pressing issues. Our next event addresses Minnesota’s health care crisis. Please pass along to your groups.
The presentation will be led by two experts on the American health care system:
- Rose Roach, Chair, Health Care for All MN, and National Coordinator, Labor Campaign for Single Payer
- Dr. Carrie Henning-Smith, associate professor UMN School of Public Health, and co-direcor of the UMN Rural Health Research Center.
They will discuss our high costs and poor results compared with other industrialized nations; the particular problems in rural Minnesota with its lack of access and mounting burden of medical debt; and what work is being done on health care in the legislature.
